A silent walk will take place this Sunday in Brumath, in the Bas-Rhin, a town where three little girls died in the fire of their house on April 26, announces the city of Brumath on its Facebook account, consulted by “ICI Alsace” (ex-France Bleu). The three sisters were aged 12, 10 and 6 years old. They had been out of the flames by the firefighters, in cardio-respiratory arrest. The death of the two oldest girls had been announced a few hours later, that of the youngest of the sisters on Monday morning.
“In memory of the three young girls, victims of the tragic fire that occurred recently, the city of Brumath in agreement with the family, organizes a municipal tribute to allow the population to meditate”indicates the town. This tribute will take the form of a silent march, Sunday May 11, at 5 p.m., “Departing from the courtyard of the castle to reach the Jardin du Tilleul where a moment of meditation will be held in the interreligious space”specifies the city’s announcement. Participants are invited to wear a white outfit.
Hundreds of people have already gathered at the Eyyûb Sultan mosque in Meinau in Strasbourg on May 1. The three coffins of the little girls had been taken there for a moment of prayer, relates “here Alsace”. Several dozen people had also gone to Hautepierre hospital in Strasbourg in support of the family, while one of the victims was still hospitalized.
A kitty has been launched on the internet and has already raised more than 60,000 euros to allow the family to repatriate bodies to Türkiye. According to the first elements of the investigation, collected by “here Alsace”, it is a defective refrigerator which is at the origin of the fire.
