Volvo Trucks recorded in 2024 an increase of 25 % of its sales of gas trucks, which reach more than 8,000 units worldwide. The Swedish group has benefited from demand for demand, especially in the Swedish, Norwegian, Dutch, Spanish and British markets, thanks to a gas supply suitable for long distance transport, regional distribution but also for construction.
The FH, FM and FH AERO models, supplied with LNG or Bio-NGL, offer up to 1,000 km of autonomy, a power of up to 500 hp, and a reduction in CO₂ emissions to 100 % when they operate in biogas. The range has 4 × 2, 6 × 2 and 6 × 4, gas -powered, with tractor/carrier chassis, for loads of up to 60 tonnes.
An asset for carriers looking for sustainable solutions, especially since the refueling network develops and that tax incentives are multiplying.
“Volvo gas trucks are a real advantage for transport companies, as they reduce the cost of possession while attenuating the carbon footprint and maintaining productivity,” said Jan Hjelmgren, product manager at Volvo Trucks. The manufacturer relies on this technology, complementary to electric and hydrogen, to reach carbon neutrality by 2040.
