An emblematic page of TF1 is about to turn. Jacques Legros, a familiar figure in viewers of the 1 p.m., is about to bow out. Replacing awarded Jean-Pierre Pernaut from 1998 to 2020, then Marie-Sophie Lacarrau in the past five years, the journalist will assure his last newspapers during the week of May 5 to 9, before passing the relay to Isabelle Ithurburu, who will take over in the summer.

In an interview with Ouest-France On Wednesday, March 26, Jacques Legros returned with sincerity to this decision: “It was not easy to make this decision. It’s been a while since it was trotting in my head. I wanted to have this freedom of choice. I didn’t want to do the newspaper too much or that I was suggested that it was time to leave or that I take less pleasure or that I feel less comfortable or that I find it harder to get up in the morning..
Aware that the time has come, it evokes a carefully thought out and natural departure: “A moment ago, you feel it. There are physical details: after the news, we are a little more tired than before. It is also a logical evolution: I am the last of the Mohicans, it is time to give way to the youngest. I like to observe them, encourage them, make them some small reproaches too. Life works like that, with encouragement and support”.
The journalist evokes his relief
In another interview granted this time to our colleagues at Télé-LoisirsJacques Legros decided to talk about farewell to viewers and did not fail to entrust his emotion. Just a few days away from his departure, he explained to feel “Both normal and weird”. “I am relieved to have made this decision after careful thinking”he confessed. And to specify that “‘Relled’ may be a big word, but it’s like when we have been thinking for a long time for something and the day we make the decision, we are happy to have taken it”. “And I am not the type to hesitate or regret, even if the team and this house will miss me”he said.
On his latest newspaper this Friday, May 9, Jacques Legros does not prefer to imagine it. The reason? “I don’t even want to think about it so much I freak out. It worries me because I know myself, I am emotional”he recognized with frankness. Then Jacques Legros to continue on the fact that he feels capable of crying as the emotion will be lively but that he does not “Not wants”. If the journalist fears to cry, it is “Because I consider that I have no right to so much love, so much friendship!”, he assured our colleagues.
