The electoral campaign for the Australian federal elections on May 3 was disturbed by a new external security controversy. The latter, published by the American military intelligence agency Janes, says that the Kremlin issued an official request to park Russian war planes at Manuhua air base in Biak Numfor, in the Indonesian province of Papua. Note that the United States already has an increasing military presence in Darwin, which Russia has criticized.
