About twenty foreign leaders are expected Friday in Moscow for the great military parade on the Red Square aimed at celebrating the 80th anniversary of victory over Nazi Germany, a central element of the patriotic story promoted by Vladimir Putin, which has often drawn historical parallels with the offensive against Ukraine launched in 2022.
“Dear friend”
It is in this context that the Russian president received his “dear friend” Xi Jinping on Thursday on Thursday, who arrived the day before for a three -day visit. The two leaders once again displayed their partnership against the West and the United States in particular.

Several files have been mentioned, according to Vladimir Putin, including “politics, security, economic relations”, but “not yet” the conflict in Ukraine at this stage, according to the Kremlin. “We will continue to closely coordinate our positions,” assured the Russian president who wants to “deepen” Russian-Chinese cooperation, already “at his highest level in history”.

-“Historical truth”
Earlier, Xi Jinping assured that the Beijing-Moscow Agreement injected “positive energy” in a world in crisis and criticized the “trend” of Westerners to “unilateralism” and “hegemonic harassment”, in the middle of the trade war launched by President Donald Trump, notably against Beijing.

Diplomatic impasse
Chinese soldiers and a dozen other countries must take part on Friday in the military parade in Moscow, despite the warnings of kyiv who sees it as “support for the aggressor” Russian.
The Russian president ordered his troops on February 24, 2022 to attack Ukraine, triggering a conflict that has caused several tens of thousands of soldiers and civilians since the deaths of two camps. Its army still occupies almost 20% of the Ukrainian territory.
The efforts with a view to an end of hostilities, initiated by Donald Trump after his return to the White House, seem today in the deadlock. Ukraine insists, under the pressure of Washington, on an unconditional ceasefire 30 days above all to decrease direct with Russia.
A parade of “lies”
An initiative rejected by Vladimir Putin, which, on the contrary, wants concrete commitments to Russia’s requests before accepting a global stop of clashes. The two countries have continued the crossed strikes in recent days. In Russia, hundreds of flights have been canceled or delayed since Tuesday following attacks by Ukrainian drones.
The Kremlin assured to take “all necessary measures” to ensure the safety of celebrations, including by limiting internet access. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has castigated the military parade scheduled for Friday in Moscow. “It will be a parade of cynicism” and “of lies”, he denounced Thursday.
Mutual accusations
Despite the entry into force on the night of the truce announced by Vladimir Putin until Saturday, the head of Ukrainian diplomacy Andriï Sybiga accused the Russian army of attacking “all over the front line”, evoking hundreds of violations of the ceasefire.
The minister promised an “appropriate” replica of the Ukrainian army to these attacks, while the Russian forces assured, “strictly respect” the truce, simply saying “responding” to Ukrainian violations. “That night, nothing has changed,” Andriï told AFP, a 50 -year -old Ukrainian soldier met in Kramatorsk (East).
“No truce so far,” confirmed a spokesperson for the Ukrainian brigade Khartia, who operates in the Kharkiv region (northeast). He reported “fed fire” and shells launched by small drones. The Ukrainian Air Force, however, said that between 21:00 GMT Wednesday and 05:00 GMT on Thursday, “no missile shot or any use of attack drones were reported in Ukrainian air space”.
Vladimir Putin had already unilaterally decreed, on the occasion of the Pascal weekend in April, a short ceasefire that had led to a drop in intensity of clashes, without being completely respected by both camps. Finally, the Ukrainian parliament ratified the mineral agreement signed with the United States on Thursday, after several months of stormy negotiations.
