Chinese President Xi Jinping arrived in Moscow on Wednesday to participate in the commemorations of the Second World War victory, reported the Russian news agency Ria.
According to the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Chinese soldiers will take part in the military parade scheduled for the Red square on Friday, as part of the Chinese leader’s state visit, which will take place from Wednesday to Saturday.
“Whatever the evolution of the situation on the island of Taiwan or the disturbances caused by external forces, the historical trend towards the inevitable reunification of China is irreversible,” said Xi in an article published in the Russian Gazette and relayed by the official agency Xinhua.
XI praised Moscow’s constant position, recalling that “Russia has repeatedly reaffirmed its strict attachment to the principle of a single China, that Taiwan is an integral part of Chinese territory, that it is opposed to any form of independence from Taiwan ‘and that it firmly supports all the measures taken by the Chinese government and the Chinese people in favor of national reunification. »»
In addition, Min Aung Hlaing, leader of the Myanmar military junta, also flew to Moscow on Wednesday in order to attend the victory celebrations, reports the media The Irrawaddy.
The Russian capital will host commemorative events on Friday, including a military parade, on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Victory Day, celebrated in Russia and several former Soviet countries on May 9, in memory of the victory of the Soviet Union over Nazi Germany during the Second World War.
