Gauzy Ltd. announced the official revelation of its intelligent glass facade, allowing one of the largest transparent screens in the world, during the inauguration of the new MSC terminal in Miami, Florida. This emblematic site of Miami, recently completed, redefines the city’s horizon line and constitutes the largest and most technologically advanced cruise terminal in the world. More than 1,100 square meters of smart adhesive film in PDLC (liquid crystals dispersed in a polymer) gray of exterior quality of Gauzy were integrated into 75 % of the glass facade of the terminal.
The transparent smart glass screen from Gauzy meets the requirements of the draft public works order, which requires the integration of artistic elements in major development projects. In this case, intelligent glass plays both a functional and artistic role, offering a unique solution where digital screens can be taken into account in the percentage of the value of the project generally allocated to public art under town planning regulations. The installation of the MSC Miami terminal highlights Gauzy’s opportunities in two expanding markets.
Gauzy is well established in Miami, one of the real estate and development markets that knows the fastest growth in the United States. The company has carried out several notable projects and new projects are underway in the south of Florida, which underlines the growing demand for innovative construction materials in the region. With this monumental project, Gauzy, MSC and Fincantieri Infrastructure have established a new reference in terms of harmonious merger of sustainable technology and immersive art in global travel hubs, redefining the experience of passengers on board and outside cruise ships.
