A clothing store caught fire in the middle of the night from to Thursday at number 38 rue du Petit-Chêne in Lausanne, said a press release from the city of Lausanne.

Around 3:20 am on Thursday, May 1, the emergency services were alerted to a strong release of smoke in the sector. Arrived on site, the firefighters that it was a fire in a clothing store. Fortunately, no one was at the scene of the disaster.

The intervention of firefighters damaged the brands below the store, causing water damage. The clothing shop is “strongly damaged”.

Place de la Gare momentarily closed

For the purposes of the intervention, the municipal police of Lausanne closed traffic at the Place de la Gare between 4 a.m. and 7:15 a.m. An ambulance was also deployed preventively on the scene.

Place now in the investigation: Fire specialists from the Lausanne judicial police were responsible for establishing the causes of the disaster.
