Deceptions should swarm a little on Temu. The State Secretariat for the Economy (SECO), following a complaint of Swiss consumer and traders’ associations, announced that it had found a satisfactory solution with the Chinese trade giant, which has agreed to adapt its site and its sales application to the Swiss market, deemed unfair. Several back and forth have taken place between Seco and the company Whaleco Technology Limited, based in Ireland, which manages the activities of the e-commerce monster in Switzerland, to achieve a compromise, based on a rehabilitation of the offer on its platforms. Representatives from Dublin had thus visited Bern in September 2024 for discussions on this subject.
-The grievances on this subject were numerous, in particular advertisements deemed deceived, relayed by discounts and barred prices not reflecting reality, as well as information concerning the availability of products that can mislead the customer. TEMU will thus have to make a large number of changes, whether in the content of its advertising messages or in the display of its site or its application.
