It is soon the end for Carlo Ancelotti within Real Madrid. Considered for several weeks now, his departure could be announced after Sunday’s Clasico against Barça en Liga by the Merengues.
According to The Athletic, Ancelotti and Madrid have entered into an agreement on his departure which will allow him to take the post of Brazil coach before the 2026 world Cup.
The rumor had long been running that the Italian was about to leave Los Blancos, in the midst of speculation on a transfer to the Seleção, an emissary of the quintuple World Cup winners having visited Madrid several times in recent weeks to speak with the 65 -year -old technician.
The Brazilian thought he would be allowed to leave Real in June, but Ancelotti would have told the federation that he would not take office before August.
-Ancelotti, 65, had to face the pressure this season despite the fact that he was one of the most decorated managers of all time and that he has brought a huge success to the Bernabeu de Turin.
In two passages at the head of the Spanish giant, he won 15 trophies, including three champions leagues and two liga titles.
However, being led by Barcelona in the championship, losing in the final of the King’s Cup and the Spanish Super Cup, and being eliminated in the quarterfinals of the Champions League by Arsenal seem to have dropped the ax.
Xabi Alonso du Bayer Leverkusen remains the favorite option of Madrid giants to use the role, although the director of football Santiago Solari, the coach of Castilla Raúl González and the manager of Juvenil a Álvaro Arbeloa are all considered as possible interim candidates for the club world cup.
