Vandenhaute is not a worse president on Sunday than on Saturday but he is still not a president who reopens the Trophy cabinet of the Lotto Park. The anniversary of the ten years of the last title is dangerously approached and René Weiler will wait for interview requests in 2027 with a smile a bit revenge.
towerCoucke respects the established order but if he would not have always done the same thing as Vandehaute, as with Hasi.
The “Wouter Buiten” will resume more in the last weeks of the competition where Anderlecht will have to pretend to believe in third place. But supporters may claim their head as loudly as they can, they will not change the organization chart of Sporting. Vandenhaute will still be the president next season. For several reasons.
A shareholder too, he cannot be dismissed on a simple decision of the CA. If he wants to avoid a war with mauve supporters, the president will still have to question himself, especially in the choice of the future coach. He hopes a lot of summer transfers from Olivier Renard but if the first months of the 2025-2026 season are difficult, the pressure could become very strong. A bit like when Coucke had been pushed to give in his place as president in May 2020.
