The Yamatogne police station proceeded, between 03 and 04, May 2025, to the arrest of three individuals for supply and transfer of drugs, after a control operation carried out at the entrance to the city of Ziguinchor, at the level of the Tobor bridge.
According to a statement from the national police, the intervention took place in two stages. On May 03, during a targeted check, the agents of the research brigade discovered in the trunk of a transport vehicle from Bignona, a blue bag containing three kilograms of Indian hemp, hidden in a cement bag. Asked, the vehicle driver designated one of his passengers as the owner of the bag. The latter, after a brief hearing, recognized the facts without difficulty and even denounced his accomplice, to whom he was to hand over the goods.
The next day, on May 04, the same operation enabled the arrest of a Jakarta motorcycle driver, also from Bignona, who was carrying a plastic sachet containing three additional kilograms of Indian hemp.
“After informing the prosecution, the three individuals were placed in custody for detention with a view to supply and sale of Indian hemp. The two bags, containing a total of six kilograms of drugs, were placed under sealed for the needs of the open investigation, “said the police press release.
