The National Regional express Train Management Company (SENER), in charge of exploitation of TER Dakar-Diamniadio, aims to win the ISO 270001 certification by next October. The announcement was made by its managing director, Cheikh Ibrahima Ndiaye, on the sidelines of a guided tour of the facilities by the members of the board of directors, reports APS.
“Our goal is to obtain the ISO 270001 certification by October. We want to set up a Regional Express Train Security Operations Center, before the Youth Olympic Games scheduled for 2026 in Dakar, “said Ndiaye.
This visit is part of the activities to monitor and enhance infrastructure under the ministry in charge of land transport. It allowed administrators to feel it better soak up the technical advances and future projects of the company.
The Director General stressed that the company is currently engaged in a dynamic of strengthening its security and governance system, through the upcoming implementation of a “security management system” of the Ter network connecting Dakar to Diamniadio.
-The head of the TER security system, Mandaw Diop, has revealed the challenges faced by infrastructure since their commissioning. “Since the implementation of TER, our industrial infrastructure has undergone more than 5 million direct threats,” he revealed. He said “these are direct threats, which have been automatically blocked by the monitoring and monitoring systems put in place”.
In a continuous improvement approach, SENER works to optimize the frequency and regularity of the service. “The TER management company is looking for the most regular transport plan as possible, a regularity rate of services in accordance with standards,” said Mandaw Diop.
Innovative technologies are also being integrated to improve the experience of users, according to the Director General. “These are means that will allow us to make access to TER much more fluid […] This is a strategy that we are finalizing, “he said.
At the end of the visit, the chairman of the board of directors, Oumar Ba, said he was satisfied with the operational rigor observed on the ground. “I was impressed by the very strong organization set up for the management of the regional express train, for the safety and satisfaction of the passengers,” he said.
