Holmesgave his opinion on his former teammate, our opening half, Matthieu Jalibert :
“He is a big competitor and he wants to win the big games, which has not yet happened yet in his career. For him, this semi-final of Champions Cup, at home, is a very great opportunity, especially against Toulouse. Indeed, the UBB has lost big matches against the Toulousain stadium, like a half of champions cup and the final of Top 14 of last season.
He returned to the relationship he had with the latter during his visit to the Union Bordeaux-Bègles:
“I hope he will grab it because I had a very nice relationship with Matthieuwho is not at all the person that one can imagine through the media or through opposing supporters who like to give him the role of the villain.
Matthieu is a very good person obsessed with rugby. He always thinks of options to attack, to cross. He has an incredible Qi Rugby and it was very interesting to rub shoulders with him. When you speak rugby with him, he is always motivated to find a way to be better. It amazes me to see in France all those people who do not have good feelings towards him because it is not the real Matthieu Jalibert. He is a great guy who loves rugby and I hope he will win titles ”.
