In the aftermath of the most serious military confrontation between the two nuclear powers for two decades, strong explosions shook, Thursday, May 8, the city of Jammu, in the Indian cashmere. A security source with the France-Presse (AFP) agency said that these explosions have affected Jammu civil airport. The origin of these explosions has not yet been determined, the same source said on condition of anonymity.
According to a police source interviewed by AFP, the city of Jammu was overflown in the evening by a swarm of drones. Some explosions were heard in her wake, she added. “We can hear strong explosions, it looks like bombs explode everywhere”said Jeet Singh, a local manager of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the Prime Minister’s party, Narendra Modi. “Electricity has been cut everywhere”he added.
Associated Press (AP) and Reuters also report the declarations of inhabitants who heard explosions and alert sirens, while the local news channels have reported drones flying over the city. According to the NDTV television channel, the attack occurred “Shortly before 9 pm [heure locale] Is still underway, and mobile telephony services as well as electric current are interrupted.
Shesh Paul Vaid, former director general of the region’s police and resident of Jammu, said the city was plunged into the dark after strong explosions. “We suspect bombing, shell fire or missile strikes”, he wrote on social networks.

Call of the United States to “immediate de-escalation”
India and Pakistan have accused each other on Thursday of having conducted drone attacks, aggravating the concern of an international community which calls the two nuclear powers to a de -escalation. The Indian Minister of Foreign Affairs warned that any attack on Pakistan would arouse “A very firm answer” from India.
On Wednesday, the two countries exchanged intense artillery fire after a series of Indian strikes on Pakistani soil targeting the group accused by new Delhi of the attack on April 22 in Pahalgam. These bombings caused the death of around forty people in both camps, including many civilians.
During the night, new exchanges of artillery and light weapons took place along the control line, the border which de facto separates cashmere, a region shared between the two countries. Lahore, the Big Pakistani bordering Pakistani of India, woke up to the sound of explosions that have taken over intermittently.
