This Friday, May 9, starts the 108th edition of the Tour of Italy in Albania and this Tuesday, the Picnic Postnl team unveiled the eight runners who will participate in the great Italian tour. Among them, the Frenchman Romain Bardet, who will compete there his last Giro and the British Max Poole who, at 22, will participate in his first.
The Picnic Postnl team has unveiled the names of its eight men who will participate in the Giro 2025 (May 9-June 1). And the Dutch training will bet on several executives to shine throughout the three weeks, including Romain Bardet, the 34 -year -old French who will take part in the last big tour of his career.
The tricolor announced last summer that he would put his bike at the end of the 2025 Dauphiné Critérium (June 8-15). He therefore participated in his fourth and last round of Italy. And the objective is clear for Auvergne: becoming the 112nd runner to win a stage on the three Grand Tour (4 successes on the Tour de France and a victory on the Vuelta)
The latter will share leadership in the mountains with the young Max Poole (22 years old), who participates in his first Giro. Its objective will be to seek the best possible result in the general classification. They will be accompanied by Casper Van Uden who will try to play the stages victories during the different potential arrivals to the sprint. “We have a team that has shown in the last races that she is building herself well, with morale and confidence within the group,” said Matt Winston, the coach of the Picnic Postnl team.
