Russian Ministry of Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova qualified the rare land agreement between the United States and Ukraine as an “imperialist colonization” on Tuesday.
Answering an Anadolu question at a press briefing in Moscow, Zakharova highlighted the few details available concerning the agreement signed last week.
“Even Ukrainian citizens, the deputies of the rada, the representatives of the departments concerned belonging to the institutions of the Ukrainian state cannot comment. Do you know why? They did not see this agreement, they did not read it, they do not know what it contains. This is of course a unique situation, “she said.
Zakharova stressed that it was premature to formulate comments at present, since none of the parties had access to the document proper and that its content is the subject of a multitude of contradictory information.
“Some messages raise even more questions. It seems that this is not a single document that has been signed in Washington, but three. Again, the texts were not published. At the same time, these texts include other confidential clauses. How can we comment on something that no one knows, with the exception of those who, apparently, sat directly at the table and worked on the text? She wondered.
According to Zakharova, Ukrainian legislators must deliberate on the ratification of the agreement on Thursday, and it expressed the hope that they could familiarize themselves with the content of the agreement before voting.
“But there is probably a second part of the answer to your question. All this, if we do not enter into details that no one knows, is part of the general trend of the colonization of Ukraine by Western countries, “she said.
-For Zakharova, this situation is the “classic imperialist model”, in which the great metropolises extract, export and plunder the resources of their colonies.
“In my opinion, planet states can today be divided into three categories. The first is precisely that which, according to the principle of past centuries, wants to continue to be colonialist, today it is the neo-colonizers, “she said.
It has developed its division of nations into three categories, explaining that the second is that which actively resists colonial powers and which has the means to do so, and the third category including states which do not have the capacity or the desire to question these operating practices.
“There are two subspecies in this third group. Subgroup A consists of those who simply do not have the capacity to resist, even if they would like. Subgroup B is the second subgroup. Those who don’t want to resist. For what ? Because they were paid for this, “she said.
According to her, current Ukrainian leaders belong to the second sub-group of the last category, they want to “receive personally money for having dilapidated natural resources which belong to the whole of the Ukrainian people and who, historically, should have belonged to him”.
“Everything is clear and obvious. They have already sold their land for GMOs and exports. They sell their citizens, including for bodies, and it is (the Ukrainian president Volodymyr) Zelensky who developed and adopted relevant legislation in Ukraine. Now the tour has come for natural resources, “she said.
