After a first film released in 2020, Stern and the city without sky will be entitled to a second feature film next year.
Titled Entotsu-chô no Poupelle – Yakusoku no Tokeidai (or Stern and the city without sky: the tower of the promised clock), the feature film is scheduled for 2026 in Japanese cinemas. Like the first part, it will be directed by Yusuke Hirota within the 4 ° C studio while Kihiro Nishino, author of the original album, ensures the writing of the script. While waiting to learn more about the film, a first poster was unveiled as well as an ad teaser (see at the end of the news).
The first film, Entotsu Machi no Poupellewent out in Japan on December 25, 2020. It was distributed in our cinemas on August 17, 2022 under the title On the other side of the sky. It remains available on DVD and Blu-ray via Arte Editions. L’album original Stern and the city without sky was published with us by editions nobi nobi! in 2018 and remains available.
In the first film, Lubicchi lives in the middle of large fireplaces whose thick smoke has always covered the sky of his city. He would like to prove to everyone that his father said true and that, beyond the clouds, there are stars. One Halloween evening, the little chimney sweep meets Poupelle, a strange creature with whom he decides to go on an adventure, to discover the sky.
