- A survey reveals that 71% of Swiss feel regular stress.
- Women would have less good physical and mental health than men.
- Loneliness affects young people under the age of 34 more than the rest of the population.
Women and young people feel bad about themselves, are often stressed and feel alone. This is the result of a new survey carried out by the GFK Institute for the mutual group account. Indeed, for almost all indicators, women and young people between 15 and 34 years old obtain less good results than the rest of the population, reports the insurance company in a statement released on Tuesday.
If 17% of men consider themselves in “very good health”, the figure drops to 13% on the side of women. In addition, they judge that their physical condition is less good than the rest of the panel. As for mental health, where 25% of men believe that it is very good, this percentage only reaches 18% for women, a difference in seven points.
And the results of young are also lower than those of the rest of the population. Indeed, more than half of people over 55 believe that their mental health is very good. Among those under 34, the figure drops to 14%. The feeling of loneliness also seems to be prevailing to the latter: more than half of them have felt alone, against only a quarter of the over 55s.
-The majority of Swiss feel stress
Stress, another indicator, seems to be tested by a large number of Swiss: 71% of those questioned say they are “sometimes stressed”. But again, women and young people are most affected. Almost 40% of them say they are very often or often stressed, while only 21% of men and 12% of the over 55s.
Despite everything, most Swiss say they are healthy and are satisfied with their lives. Indeed, there are 9 out of 10 to estimate that their health is rather good or very good. In terms of mental health, almost 60% of Swiss judge that their mental state is very good, and 38% say it pretty good.
