Record season for skills. On Tuesday, the ridge returned, in a press release, in the winter of 2024/2025, noting that it “will remain in the annals of the branch as an exceptionally good season”. Concretely, the number of visitors increased by 11% compared to winter, which represents the season of the decade.

An increase that the Swiss ski lifts owe above all at a very busy holiday period (December 16 to 15), boosted by large snowfall, with a 24% increase in customers compared to the previous year. The February holidays were also good (+10%) and the end of the season proved to be rather stable (+1%).

The low -altitude regions have particularly benefited from the conditions this year. The stations of the Vaudois and Friborg Alps are those who have experienced the biggest customer boom, encrypted at +31%. Conversely, Valais and Graubünden displayed more modest growth rates, respectively 6% and 5%. Corolar: small businesses (up to 2 million francs in turnover in passenger transport) have recorded greater customer growth (+22%) than medium (+14%) and large companies (+9%).

“It is particularly delightful to note that visitors appreciate not only the large areas, but also the small areas of low altitude when the conditions are good,” welcomed Berno Stoffel, director of the Swiss skills. This, because according to him, “this is where the take their steps and their first turns in the snow. This is where snow fever is transmitted ”.
