The facts –
George Simion, an Eurosceptic fan of Donald Trump, collected 40.5 % of the vote, according to the almost final results of the presidential election, which was held on Sunday in Romania. He will face in the second round scheduled for May 18, the centrist mayor of Bucharest Nicusor Dan (20.9 %), who narrowly exceeded the sole candidate of the ruling parties, Crin Antonescu (20.3 %). The arrival at the head surprise, in November, by Calin Georgescu had worried in the west of the continent and plunged Romania into turmoil. The Constitutional Court invalidated the ballot and excluded the sixties in this new election, after a massive campaign on Tiktok marred by suspicions of Russian interference. He was replaced by George Simion and the two men appeared together on Sunday in a polling station.

Russia is accused of interference in the ballot, even if all the light has not been established on this case.
