Tarn-et-Garonnais firefighters intervened Thursday, May 8, 2025 at the end of the afternoon for a fire that destroyed a house dependence of 150m2. A badly extinct barbecue could be the cause of the loss.
The butterfly effect still struck in Réalville, Tarn-et-Garonne: a small cause but great consequence. According to information from The dispatcha fire broke out in the city of Quercynoise Thursday, May 8, 2025, around 5.30pm.
The firefighters were alerted for a fire departure at the level of the Pech path. The Tarn-et-Garonne Departmental Fire and Rescue Operational Center (CODIS 82) immediately deployed large means.
-In total, up to fifteen sappers were dispatched to the site, from Caussade, Albias or Montpezat-de-Quercy. They notably used two spears to try to master the disaster which had won the dependence of a property of 150m².
No victim
According to the first elements, it seems that the spark came from a badly off barbecue. A embers would then have won dependence before igniting it completely. The damage is important, since the roof would have been completely destroyed. But the owners had a private place to spend the night from Thursday, 8 to Friday 9 May.
Fortunately, the disaster did not make a victim. The firefighters had to stay on the spot to finish the intervention before a gendarmerie investigation tries to determine the exact thread of the events.
