A suspect fire ravages an agricultural building and takes 80 cattle to Saint-Gérard-Majella

Around 2 a.m., during the night of May 2 to 3, the Yvan Parenteau farm located in Saint-Gérard-Majella was ravaged by a violent fire considered suspect by the security of Quebec (SQ). Despite the efforts of the Pierreville-Saint-François-du-Lac fire management, 80 cattle lost their lives.
Joined by the newspaper The 2 shoresthe SQ mentioned considering the fire as a suspect. A fire prevention technician will investigate the exact cause of the fire. “Two vehicles and an agricultural building have burned. Also, 80 cattle died in the fire, ”explains Louis-Philippe Ruel, spokesperson for the SQ.
About twenty firefighters fought the flames for just over eight hours. The director of the Pierreville-Saint-François-du-Lac fire control room, Pierre Hamel, informs that he received the help of firefighters from Saint-David. No one was injured.
On Facebook, the family concerned by the drama asks the public to open the eye, while looking for a Toyota Tacoma van, transporting a water tank. For its part, the SQ has not confirmed to be looking for this type of van.
