Triple murder in sweat: three people in pre -trial detention

A 20 -year -old was placed in pre -trial detention on Monday, suspected of murder in the shooting investigation that killed three people in late April, the prosecutor in charge of the case said on Monday. Two others were incarcerated for complicity in murder, detailed prosecutor Andreas Nyberg.

Three young people aged 15 to 20 were killed on April 29 at the end of the afternoon in a hairdressing salon in the university city of Uppsala, located about sixty kilometers north of Stockholm. According to information from the SVT public channel, the 20 -year -old man placed in pre -trial detention on Monday is part of a gang from Södertälje (southern suburb of Stockholm).

The authorities do not confirm that it is a murder linked to the gang war that has been raging in Sweden for several years. “A person was placed in pre -trial detention, probably suspect of murder in three cases,” said Andreas Nyberg. He denies the facts, according to his lawyer Sabina Saidi, cited by the agency TT.

Two degrees of suspicion exist in the Swedish judicial system: “reasonably suspect” and “probably suspect”. The first, the lightest of the two, only exceptionally leads to pre -trial detention, while the second is generally a prerequisite for detention, according to the parquet site.

Two other people, a 20 -year -old man and a person under the age of 18, were also placed in pre -trial detention, suspected of complicity, said the prosecutor. “It is a question of building a solid and rigorous preliminary investigation, so that people who have committed offenses are prosecuted in the end,” he said. “We are only at the beginning”.

Sweden has been trying to stem a wave of shootings and attacks with the artisanal explosive carried out by rival gangs for several years, especially for control of drug trafficking. Uppsala has long been the basis of the two most famous rival gang leaders in Sweden, Ismail Abdo and Rawa Majid, but the two men are suspected of now orchestrating their operations from abroad.

Uppsala is experiencing regular episodes of violence launched by the murder in 2003 of Ismail Abdo’s mother, an account settlement linked to the conflict between her gang, Rumba, that of Rawa Majid, Foxtrot, said the prosecution last week.
