Tulkarem, on May 4, 2025, WAFA- The aggression led by the Israeli occupation forces against the city of Tulkarem and its camp continues for the 98th consecutive day, and for the 85th day against the camp of Nour Shams, in a context of constant climbing on the field, intensified military movements, searches and arrests.
According to local sources, the occupation forces stormed, at dawn, the district of Shweika, north of Tulkarem. They searched several houses there and arrested four citizens, including two former prisoners released during the last cease-fire agreement. It is Ihab Sharafa, Mahmoud Kleibi, Ghassan Mahdawi and Ahmad Riad Freij.
Military reinforcements made up of armored vehicles and ground troops have been deployed in the city, its camps and its neighborhoods, accompanied by real bullet shots, deafening grenades, searches of houses and shops, destruction of goods, interrogation on the spot, violence and arrests.
Our correspondent reports that the military vehicles and Israeli patrols are constantly circulating in the streets and districts of the city, disturbing the circulation of citizens and pursuing them, in particular in Place Jamal Abdel Nasser, the Martyr Thabet Martyr roundabout, the rue de Naplouse and the Shweika roundabout.
At the same time, the Tulkarem and Nour Shams camps as well as their surroundings are experiencing a massive deployment of Israeli forces, which use real bullets, deafening and bright grenades, with explosions heard by intermittent. These attacks are accompanied by a strict blockade and the closing of access to the camps by earth barricades, as well as systematic searches and destruction in homes.
Last Thursday, the occupation forces notified the demolition of 106 houses and buildings in both camps: 58 in the Tulkarem camp and 48 in that of Nour Shams. Continuous attack led to the forced displacement of more than 4,200 families – more than 25,000 citizens -, the total destruction of 396 houses and the partial destruction of 2573 others. The entrances and alleys of the camps were also blocked by mounds of land.
In parallel, the occupation forces continue to take control of houses and residential buildings in the street of Nablouse and the adjacent North district, which they transform into military posts after having forced the inhabitants to force them by force. Military vehicles and bulldozers are permanently positioned there.
Since the start of the assault and its intensification against the city of Tulkarem and its camps, 13 citizens have been killed, including a child and two women – one of them being eight months pregnant. Dozens of others have been injured or arrested. The assault also caused massive destruction of infrastructure, houses, shops and vehicles, which have been completely or partially destroyed, burned, vandalized or looted.
