The Delegate to the of Government responsible for the Digital Transition and the Reform of the Administration, Ms. Amel Falah Sghrouchni, met with the project leaders whose start-ups were selected as part of the “ 200” initiative.

The 200 start-ups concerned benefit from a participation financed by the ministry on the occasion of the 3rd edition of the “Gitex Africa Maroc” show, organized from April 14 to 16 in the ocher city.

During this meeting, Ms. Sghrouchni stressed that the “Morocco 200” initiative, launched by the ministry in collaboration with the Digital Development Agency, aims to strengthen the international dimension of start-ups and energize their presence on the world technological scene. She said that selected companies benefit from 95% of the rental costs of exhibition spaces, in order to lift financial barriers to access a major event like Gitex Africa.

Each start-up has a 4 square meter stand and access preparatory training designed in partnership with investors, mentors and accelerators. “These training courses aim to strengthen their capacity to effectively present their projects, structure their pitches and better anticipate expectations,” said the minister. More than 600 B2B games are planned between start-ups, investors and partners.

The will also be able to participate in the “Supernova Challenge”, the largest pitch competition for start-ups in the launch phase in Africa, with a prestigious price. Among the 200 start-ups selected, 130 participate for the time, only two had been chosen in 2023, while 55 had taken part in the 2024 and 15 edition in the previous two editions.

Ms. Sghrouchni welcomed the presence of 34 start-ups founded by . On the sectoral level, artificial intelligence dominates with 13%of the selected projects, followed by logistics and mobility technologies (11%), Edtech and Fintech (8%each), healthtech (7%) and Agritech (7%).

The ceremony was marked by the award ceremony to the members of the jury in recognition of their precious contribution to the selection process.

Organized under the high patronage of SM Le Roi Mohammed VI, this 3rd edition of Gitex Africa Maroc aims to strengthen synergies between governments, investors, businessmen and pioneers of digitalization.

Supervised by the Ministry of Digital Transition in partnership with the Digital Development Agency, the event is experiencing a record crowd with more than 45,000 expected and 1,400 exhibitors from 130 countries.
