On May 7, the owner of the restaurant of Samgyeopsal Midon, located in Chuncheon, shared a selfie taken with Kim Taehyung (V of BTS). He thanked the idol for his visit, praising his kindness and his natural charisma. But what mainly caught the attention of the fans was a very special detail about his outfit.
In the photo, Taehyung carries the military uniform decorated with a badge of “Special Warrior”, a distinction very respected in the South Korean army. This badge is reserved for soldiers having brilliantly succeeded in intense training, both physical and mental, in an elite unit.
In addition to this distinction, two other badges are visible: one indicates that he is a peloton leader, the other shows that it belongs to the command of the army’s special operations (Roka). In other words, Taehyung is not just one soldier among others, he is one of the best.
Fans, of course, were quick to express their pride. On the networks, the comments flocked to salute his strength and his involvement since the start of his military service.

Taehyung began its military service in December 2023, and it is currently a sergeant within the Special Duty Team (SDT), an elite unit in charge of special missions for the defense of Seoul. Before his departure, he had released his very first solo album Layoververy personal, with a retro aesthetic and jazz influences inspired by his link with his dog Yeontan.
In March 2024, he unveiled a sweet ballad entitled free (end) precorded before its enrollment. He also released a highly anticipated photobook in July, Type 1which offers an overview of its more intimate universe. In October, a vinyl version of Layover was created, followed by two winter pieces released in December, including a collaboration with Park Hyo-Shin.
Finally, he surprised everyone by collaborating posthumously with the American actor-singer Bing Crosby on a resumption of White Christmas.
Unless you change calendar, Taehyung should complete its service in June 2025.
