After his worst result of the year (outside an abandonment), Marco Bezzecchi approaches the French MotoGP Grand Prix by being ninth in the championship.
The Aprilia pilot commented: ‘It’s cool to drive again at Le Mans. It is a circuit that I like. I hope the weather will be good, but I don’t know. After the Jerez test, we had a few days to try to work on everything. I hope we can start from a good base and try to spend a good weekend’.
Two years ago, Bezzecchi won in France, but he pointed out that things are different now: ‘Well, of course, I like the circuit, it’s a circuit where I have won in the past. But in the end, now it’s another story. We must continue to work. Of course, we have a lot of data from the test, but it is never enough. We must analyze very well and we must understand everything we have tried during the test to see if it can bring us an advantage here, but also on the next circuits’.
According to the Italian, the RS-GP has a good base, but everything is not perfect with the motorcycle: ‘The base is not bad. The problem is that we always lack something – the qualification, the start of the race. Then, as soon as everything becomes stable, the basic adjustment of the motorcycle works better and better on each turn. It’s a big positive point, of course, but that’s something we have to adjust for other aspects of the motorcycle’.
