This Sunday, May 4 at the trial of Ploneour Lanvern, there was little suspense on the winner in TR1, the queen category. And not only because Elouenn Monnier was alone in the running, after the Corentin Pavan and Martin Pochez package.
If he admits to having another length of delay on the latter, the young trialist (18 years old) clearly follows traces of the one who has reigned over the Breton trial for many years. “There is always a technical gap, but I see that getting closer and closer to him for training. Sometimes I am even faster ”notes the ACL Brealaise licensee.
“Martin would not have made these mistakes”
What makes the difference? “Experience. Today (Sunday)I make four footsteps per lightness, because it is a rather easy but still trashy route. Martin would not have made these mistakes ”he believes. In fact, his prestigious Breal teammate had made a flawless last year on the same playground.
Monnier remains the designated successor of Pochez, dubbed by his opponents. “He rides really well, he has evolved really well”analysis Thomas Helias (29), winner in TR2 + (ex-Open) and former Brittany S1 champion (ex TR1). “I even think that it is better today than I was”admits the regional stage without blinking.

He now remains with the Breton hope to come and tickle the King Pochez in the Brittany Championship and to illustrate in the French Championship TR1. Current 7e ranking after a breakage on the 2e STEP, he has to face another even more talented hope that dominates the classification at only 15 years old: Pablo Echene.
