The Minister of Health and Social Protection, Amine Tahraoui, received on Monday May 5 in Rabat, Hanane Hassan Balkhi, regional director of the World Health Organization (WHO) for the eastern Mediterranean.
At the center of their exchanges: the deepening of the partnership between Morocco and WHO, in the light of structural transformations engaged in the health sector. “Morocco operates full refoundation of its care system”, said Tahraoui, evoking the progressive generalization of medical coverage and the expansion of the social protection base.
The Minister underlined the vocation of Morocco to become a regional pole, both for the development of health policies and for their concerted implementation on a African scale.
Mᵐᵉ Balkhi, greeting a “Sovereign and lucid vision of public health”expressed the full support of WHO to Moroccan reforms. She insisted on the singular role of the kingdom, “Convergence model between internal efficiency and international cooperation”.
This interview reflects a shared desire to make health a vector of stability, dignity and continental solidarity.
