Visa Inc., a global giant of digital payments, and Chari, an approved Moroccan fintech as a payment establishment, announce a strategic partnership of seven years to accelerate digital transformation and expand access to financial services in Morocco.
This alliance will allow Visa to strengthen its presence in the Moroccan Fintech ecosystem based on field expertise and innovative Chari solutions. Together, the two companies intend to expand their customers, generate new sources of income and actively contribute to the modernization of payments in Morocco.
Thanks to the Chari points of sale network, including small neighborhood grocery stores, the partnership aims to democratize digital payments and reduce the use of cash, the cornerstone of financial inclusion. The B2B application of Chari already allows these traders to access e-commerce, micro-credit and stock management services.
Member of the first cohort of the Accelerator Program visa, launched in Marrakech in 2023, Chari thus consolidates his position as a reference actor of the Fintech in French -speaking Africa.
“Together, we will generate significant growth and a positive impact in Morocco,” says Sami Romdhane, CEO of Morocco Visa. For Ismael Belkhayat, CEO of Chari, this partnership marks a key step to “reach a larger number of small traders and strengthen their financial inclusion”.
