The hearing on appeal concerning, known under the nickname of “Turbo”, initially set for May 5 before the Casablanca Court of Appeal, has been postponed to June 9. This decision was made in order to allow the convocation of witnesses deemed necessary for the investigation of the file.
This referral comes within the framework of the appeal procedure concerning serious accusations brought against Redaabakrim. The Court must re -examine the case after a first judgment which had aroused mixed reactions with regard to previous judicial decisions in this same file.
The facts for which Réda Abakrim is prosecuted in Morocco dates back to 2007 and took place in France. They concern charges of kidnapping, sequestration and murder with premeditation. Three other individuals are also implicated as accomplices in this case.

Previously to the Moroccan procedure, editor abakrim had been sentenced in absentia to twenty years’ imprisonment by French justice. However, during its judgment at first instance in Morocco for these same facts, the court had pronounced its release. It is this last decision which is the subject of the current appeal. The possibility of judging Abakrim in Morocco for this 2007 affair arises from its arrest on February 14, 2024, which occurred in the context of another distinct and strongly publicized case, relating to the death of the husband of the singer Rym Fikri.
