The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) made public today, Tuesday, May 6 in New York, the global report on human development-2025 entitled “A question of choice : People and possibilities in the era of artificial intelligence “.
The global relationship on human development 2025 highlights the importance of freedom of choice in human development and examines how artificial intelligence (AI) can support this freedom. He stresses that the future is not predetermined and that current choices can guide progress significantly, said a press release from the National Observatory for Human Development.
Concerning Morocco, the exceeding of the value of the human development index (HDI) of the 0.700 threshold allows the Kingdom to integrate, for the first time, the category of high human development countries, according to UNDP criteria, thus testifying to a sustained dynamic of growth, notes the same source.
-This improvement reflects significant advances in the fundamental dimensions of human development: health, education and standard of living. The rate of growth remains robust, indicating a progressive structural transformation of living conditions in Morocco. The underlying indicators confirm this trend; Life expectancy at birth and the expected years of education are experiencing a positive development. The trends of the HDI of Morocco illustrate this constant progression, highlighting the consolidation of human development efforts initiated by the Kingdom. This evolution is the fruit of public policies oriented towards strengthening human capital, an essential condition for inclusive and sustainable growth.
The global report also notes a downward trend in the gender inequality index (GII), which indicates a gradual improvement in terms of gender equality. However, the kingdom’s efforts must focus on reducing maternal mortality rates, increasing the representation of women in decision -making bodies and improving their access to education and the labor market, the report underlines.
In addition, the report positions Morocco among countries with low incidence of multidimensional poverty. This result reflects a clear improvement in living conditions on a large part of the population and highlights the progress made in terms of human development in recent years.
