The Moroccan government has ordered an avoided 1800 patroller to the Spanish naval manufacturer Navantia for an amount of 130 million euros. In September 2022, the Moroccan executive announced the signing of a loan of 95 million euros with the Spanish bank Banco Santander to finance the construction of this patroller whose work started in early July 2023, on the San Fernando shipyard in Cadiz.
After cutting the sheets, the keel of the patroller was placed on calendary number 3 of the shipyard last September. We can already see the mast of the ship, said Defensespecifying that the patroller will have a full -load weight of approximately 2,020 tonnes, a length of 87 meters, a width of 13 meters and a draft of 4 meters.

The future Moroccan patroller will have a large bridge for helicopter or drone or UAS (Unmanned Aircraft System). It will also be equipped with two semi-rigid auxiliary or Rhibid (Rigid-Hullede Boat) boats. Achieving a maximum speed of 24 knots, thanks to its Diesel and Diesel combined propulsion system (CODAD), this warship equipped with four MAN 175D engines and five Baudouin 6 m26.3 engineers can reach a maximum speed of 24 knots.
Avante 1800 is a patroller compatible with a main cannon of 76 mm or 57 mm, remote -controlled weapons systems or RCWS (Remote Controlled Weapon Station) of 25 or 30 mm, as well as with several types of missiles. It is the first patroller built by Navantia for Morocco, after the corvette “Lieutenant-Colonel Errahmani”, delivered to the kingdom on March 28, 1983.
