Opel Maroc launches the new generation of the Grandland SUV

Completely revised and revamped, the newcomer has many stylistic characteristics initially seen on the Opel Experimental concept car and integrated for the first time on a standard model. Among these characteristics, let us quote the 3D banner with Lighted Blitz logo which sits proudly in the center of the front and the lettering “Opel” permanently lit at the rear. The LED Intelli-Lux lighting system, with more than 50,000 individual elements, the new Stla Medium platform, are other highlights of the new Grandland who have already convinced the experts and which have earned the newcomer to win the 2024 Gold steering wheel prize.

With the German manufacturer, the new generation Grandland represents a major step for Opel by making electromobility even more attractive. This is the first Opel to benefit from the Stellantis Stla Medium Bev native platform, which allows it to offer three different engines:

  • 48V hybrid (1.2l with a 48V light hybridization of 145 horsepower in combined power);

  • The PHEV (rechargeable hybrid with 195 horsepower offering up to 85 km electric);

  • BEV (thanks to this new architecture, to the new flat battery up to 97 kWh, with the new generation electric motor and energy saving systems such as the heat pump, the new Grandland Electric will be able to offer an electrical autonomy of approximately 700 kilometers according to the WLTP standard).

Hybrid 48-VOLTS SHIPTS technology currently offered on the new Opel Grandland in Morocco includes a lithium-ion battery which is automatically recharged under certain driving conditions, as well as a 1.2-liter turbo petrol engine of 100 kW (136 hp). This engine, specially designed for hybrid use, is associated with an electrified six -speed double clutch transmission and a 21 kW electric motor (28 hp). This technology is particularly effective in an urban environment where the electric motor assists the heat engine during acceleration and start -ups. The electric motor contributes to torque, in particular at low speed, which improves driving dynamics and reduces CO₂ emissions. At low speed, the electric motor also allows you to drive in 100 % electric mode over a distance of up to a kilometer, or up to 50 % of the time spent in town.

When the Grandland slows down at higher speeds, the heat engine goes out and the electric motor acts as a generator to recharge the 48 -volt battery from the hybrid system. This perfectly coordinated system is designed to offer the best performance with minimum energy consumption at any time.

Depending on the driving preferences, you can choose between three available modes (Eco, normal and sport). On the menu, three finishes namely: Edition, GS and GS Plus. Prices start from 329,000 DHS.
