The strengthening of the strategic partnership between Morocco and Spain was at the center of interviews held on Thursday in Madrid, between the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans residing abroad, Nasser Bourita, and the Spanish Minister of Foreign Affairs, the European Union and Cooperation, José Manuel Albares Bueno.
In a statement to the press at the end of this meeting, Mr. Bourita and his Spanish counterpart noted with satisfaction the positive dynamics of relations between Morocco and Spain, based on the principles of transparency, mutual trust and a permanent and constructive dialogue.
Likewise, they praised the excellence of this strategic partnership oriented towards the future and reaffirmed their common desire to work for the strengthening of this privileged partnership which constitutes a model of exemplary cooperation.
The two ministers recalled that this dynamic is part of the new era of relations between the two countries, driven by the meeting between His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist him, and the president of the Spanish government, Mr. Pedro Sanchez, in April 2022.
They also underlined the importance of this meeting which made it possible to inaugurate an unprecedented step in relations between the two kingdoms and to infuse a new impetus in the establishment of a multidimensional partnership which is based on confidence, permanent dialogue and mutual respect for commitments.
In this context, the two ministers have renewed the commitment to deal with different questions of common interest in a spirit of trust and consultation, in order to further strengthen multisectoral and multidimensional bilateral cooperation, especially in its human, economic, commercial and security dimensions.
MM. Bourita and Albares, in this context, welcomed the numerous initiatives and visits to senior officials, on both sides, who have contributed to the strengthening of the relationship between the two countries.
In addition, the two ministers expressed their satisfaction with the significant advances in common projects and also with regard to the agreement that marks the preparations for the organization of the 2030 World Cup, an event which will positively impact all aspects of the privileged partnership between Morocco and Spain.
