Two partnership agreements were signed on the sidelines of the Gitex Africa show in Marrakech in order to organize the Gitex Future Health Africa in April 2026 and create a digital laboratory.
Partnerships: Casablanca will welcome the first Pan -African technological show in April 2026 dedicated to the digital transformation of health systems. The Ministry of Health is combined with the CDG for the creation of a digital laboratory which will constitute a strategic platform dedicated to the acceleration of the digital transformation of the health system.
Morocco will host the “Gitex Future Health Africa / Morocco” from April 21 to 23 2026. This major event to be held in Casablanca will be devoted to the digital transformation of health systems. Thus, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, the Mohammed VI Foundation of Sciences and Health, and the “Kaoun International” society. This agreement establishes a strategic partnership between the three parties, in order to organize an annual show and international conference dedicated to the health sector, medical technologies and equipment, digital health as well as biotechnology, Morocco.
The objective is to energize innovation in the health field and to assert the position of the kingdom as a regional hub of knowledge and investment in this vital field. The three parties undertake to promote the development of health care, medical technologies and digital health, both in Morocco and on the scale of the African continent. This commitment is reflected in the creation of an interactive space for dialogue and cooperation bringing together international political decision -makers, experts and researchers, players in the public and private health sector, as well as innovators in digital technologies. This initiative aims to promote the sharing of knowledge and technologies, to strengthen public-private partnerships, to encourage foreign investments and to open up new development prospects within the national and regional health system.
Strategic alliance with the CDG
On the sidelines of the 3rd edition of the “Gitex Africa” show in Marrakech, the Minister of Health and Social Protection, Amine Tehraoui, and the director general of the Caisse de Dépôt et de Gestion (CDG), Khalid Safir, signed a strategic partnership agreement on Tuesday, April 15, 2025. The objective of this partnership is the creation of a digital laboratory which will constitute a strategic platform dedicated to the acceleration of the digital transformation of the health system. It aims to develop innovative digital solutions intended to improve the efficiency of the health system, while supporting the modernization efforts of the health and social protection sector.
This system will also contribute to the structuring of a national e-health innovation ecosystem, with a view to strengthening the competitiveness and resilience of the sector in the face of future challenges. Thus, this partnership aims to accelerate the digital transformation of the national health system, to develop innovative digital solutions to strengthen the efficiency of health performance, to stimulate a national innovation system in the field of health technologies, to prepare and to implement structuring projects in the health infrastructure. This partnership will also help improve access to treatments and strengthen the quality of health services. In addition, the agreement provides for the planning, financing and carrying out of major projects in the field of health infrastructure, including the construction, equipment and upgrading of public health establishments. These projects will be implemented by the subsidiaries of the Caisse de Dépôt and Management, each according to its intervention perimeter, with the possibility of expanding the field of cooperation to other areas of common interest.
