The American rapper and producer P. Diddy pleaded not guilty on Monday of two new counts, a few weeks before his trial which will open in May for a large network of sex trafficking which he is suspected of having directed.
A new indictment against this former hip-hop magnate, imprisoned since last September for this trial, was issued in early April for sexual traffic and transport for prostitution, linked to a woman simply identified as “victim-2” by prosecutors.
Possible report
P. Diddy, his real name Sean Combs, appeared on Monday before judge Arun Subramanian, in New York, where he had already pleaded not guilty of the first three counts, and for whom he faces a prison sentence.
The long -awaited trial is expected to start with the selection of the jury on May 5, but according to several American media, one of his lawyers, Marc Agnifilo, announced on Monday that the defense could request a postponement of two weeks to examine new evidence.
-The judge gave La Défense two days to submit a written request for a postponement. During this trial, the producer will also be judged for traffic for sexual exploitation or extortion.
Sexual predator
Several complaints were revealed in the fall of 2023 against P. Diddy, also called Diddy or Puff Daddy, in particular concerning rape accusations emanating from the singer of R&B Cassie, who was her partner, a procedure finally settled by an “amicable” agreement.
Arrested last fall, he is accused by the American justice of having put his musical empire at the service of a violent traffic system for ends of sexual exploitation. Since then, it has been targeted by civil complaints of more than 120 alleged victims.
Superstar, Sean Combs is today described by his victims as a violent sex predator, who used alcohol and drugs to obtain their submission.
