The latest philosophy coffee hosted by Monique Karpp brought together an attentive audience at Mamé around a theme as universal as it is: Loneliness. To open the session, it was the voice of Serge Reggiani, singing solitude, which set the tone followed by a collective brainstorming on the advantages and disadvantages of loneliness. Whether chosen or suffered, punctual or lasting, loneliness can take various forms, ranging from factual isolation to lord, this deep feeling of abandonment or disconnection.
Monique Karpp structured her intervention in two stages: first, the solitude suffered, often born of disappointed expectations, of a difficulty in feeling understood or linked to oneself. This lack of recognition or self -love can leave us governed by our emotions, in search of links that we no longer know how to tie. Then, she explored the loneliness chosen, that which we seek to escape the frenzy of everyday life and social injunctions. A form of voluntary, demanding but fruitful withdrawal: finding yourself, meeting, better understanding your deep needs. In this quest, loneliness becomes a space of clarity, of creativity, a path to freedom.
The discussion, rich and nuanced, also highlighted the differences between individual solitude and collective loneliness, aroused many exchanges. Everyone left with “grin to grind”, nourished by deep reflections and personal echoes.
