The tournament will take place at the Vaquerolles golf course in Nîmes on May 18.
“We can marry art and a humanitarian cause. We would like to make people understand that art can mix with many other things and allow you to discover the same emotions”, explains Joëlle Colomina, wife of the painter Jorge Colomina, located in Nîmes, who is organizing a charity tournament on May 18 at the Vaquerolles golf course. The artist is also a golfer and the sculpture he designed, made of metal and compressed glass, represents a … golfer! A raffle, with tickets at only € 2, will allow participants to win the work of art as well as a jewel from Swell.
Two associations to discover the sail
Last year, a first tournament was organized in La Grande-Motte, making it possible to collect around € 10,000 for the benefit of the France Alzheimer association. This year, they chose two new associations in favor of a meeting on the port of La Grande-Motte. “We discussed two minutes and Joëlle told me that we were going to do something”, Records François Sirven-Villaros, owner of a schooner from 1927. With the Atalante association and the Pirates, created after the disappearance of his wife with which he had restored the boat, he allows sick children to sail. The tournament will also be an opportunity to finance the association between sky and earth sail and health, created by Christine Duchemin, who lived “The breast cancer storm in 2014”. Henceforth, she takes women in remission, to allow them “To recharge your batteries at sea and feel alive”.
