The junior Golf Junior championship started at the Golf The Residence Gammarth yesterday with the participation of 70 players and players representing 12 countries affiliated to the AGC. The national Tunisian team junior girls made an exceptional start allowing to finish the 18 holes in the lead with a tie with Morocco with a total of 150 strokes for each of the two teams. If the Moroccan team has taken the lead in the ranking thanks to the advantage of the score of the third player, the breathtaking performance of our Tunisian selection remains historic.
The collective performance of the Tunisian selection is the fruit of the excellent performance of the two players Isra Bouamor and Yasmina Driss. The captain of the Tunisian selection Isra Bouamor made a first day of dream despite the gusts of wind blowing in all directions during this inaugural day. She completed the 18 holes in the by by with a little stroke behind the Moroccan Sophia Zbiri, first with 71 shots.
Yasmina Driss who also achieved a good course ended this day in third position with a total of 78 strokes.
In the male competition, if the Egyptian Alieldin Salama has ahead of the Zimbabween Tanaka Chatota (67 against 72), South Africa dominated as expected the end of the team ranking with a remarkable advance on Morocco (219 against 226). The Tunisian team is generally seventh, but it is able to climb at least fifth, with more concentration.
