In Perpignan, rebellious France launches its municipal campaign with Mickaël Idrac and Monique Hernandez in mind. Objective: to build an alternative to rupture for 2026, and reach out to possible allies.
The electoral committee of rebellious France has formalized the appointment of Mickaël Idrac and Monique Hernandez as head binomial for the municipal elections of March 2026 in Perpignan. Both will have the mission of animate the local campaign collective and to initiate, if necessary, discussions for a possible electoral agreement with other political forces.
In accordance with the strategic line defined by the rebellious in January 2025, their mission will consist of “Animate the rebellious campaign collective and initiate possible discussions aimed at leading to an electoral agreement with other political organizations around clear programmatic guarantees”.
Difficult union of the left
Last March, rebellious France was shaken by an internal sling. Activists gathered around Geneviève Sabathé, under the name “Les Insoumis Libres”, disputed the designation deemed undemocratic of Mickaël Idrac as the list for the municipal elections of 2026. A controversy minimized by the local coordinator LFI, Francis Daspe, who evoked a maneuver of a activist “Known to sow discord” et “Excluded for more than a month”.
This initiative of the rebels is added to the left to two other distinct political dynamics for the municipal elections of 2026. On the one hand, Agnès Langgevine, ex-ecologist, adopts a more centrist line under the banner of public square and aims for a large alliance. On the other, the Perpignan collective otherwise, around Mathias Blanc, tries to bring together PS, PCF and various ex-colists. But the union comes up against strategic and personal disagreements, in particular with the refusal of LFI and environmentalists to participate.
