McLaren F1 has already announced that Patricio O’Ward will participate in the EL1 of the Mexico Grand Prix in October. The announcement arrives early, but the Mexican pilot is one of the leaders of the English team in Indycar, and which he has already rolled at home last year in free trials.
“I am very happy to get back into the car for the EL1 during my home race in Mexico this year. Mexico fans were incredible the last time, and I had the feeling of being able to get the most out of the program that the team had planned. I can’t wait to return this year and work with Zak, Andrea and the whole team” said O’Ward.
Andrea Stella, the director of the team, welcomed the continuity of their collaboration: “We are pleased to confirm that Pato O’Ward will participate in free tests 1 of the Mexico Grand Prix 2025, in order to acquire precious time at the wheel of the MCL39. Pato made an appreciated contribution last season and continues to impress in Indycar.”
“This makes him an appropriate pilot for the free test session 1. This will allow Pato to deepen his knowledge and continue to be part of our reserve pilots for the second year, which will allow us to have a wide range of pilots to which we can call in case of need.”
