The arrival of a new edition of the F1 franchise is synonymous with significant developments on the substance and form. F1 25 is no exception to the rule. It is not content to be a simple update of the previous game but a real step forward in terms of visual evolution, audio and playing comfort. We were able to have an overview and we tell you everything without further ado.
After discovering last week the additions and modifications made to My Team, make way for technical elements. The developers have thus announced that five circuits benefit from a big update in F1 25. They are Bahrain, Miami, Melbourne, Suzuka and Imola. The emphasis is placed on authenticity, the accuracy in the restitution of the specificities of each layout, like the variations in elevation and rendering of surfaces which are intended this year more realistic. From what we could see in pictures, the difference with F1 24 is obvious. The developers have relied on news on LIDAR technology (detection and telemetry by light) to capture the essence of these five lines. The particularity also comes from the use of Lidar during racing weekends, which allowed the developers to push the restitution not only of the track but from everything that revolves around. More alive, more realistic, the five updated tracks have also been the subject of a more complete restitution of the vegetation. More trees will be visible on the screen and the emphasis has been placed on the restitution of certain varieties to stick to reality. Finally, note that three new circuits will be available in reversed mode: Silverstone, Austria and Zandvoort. Enough to vary the pleasures a little with these three routes which have been selected because they are, according to the developers, the best suited to this fantasy.
During this new presentation of F1 25, we were also able to learn more about the personalization system. The idea is still here that of promoting realism by leaving players freedom to conduct more precise investments. In order to bring more authenticity to creations, F1 25 will, for example, offer customizable logos and entries. We will gain consistency until the display of the pilot number which offers more designs and possibilities to play on colors and shadows to stick to the general visual identity of our creation. Finally, note that special deliveries are no longer limited to use in F1 World mode; It is now possible to use them in a career, grand prix or time trial. Last point concerning personalization: in My Team mode, the engine sound will now be different depending on the supplier to which we turn. A plus for immersion that amateurs will no doubt appreciate.
Now let’s talk about F1 World mode and its collaborative dimension. In F1 25 it is possible to obtain “invitations” by browsing F1 World and finishing on the podium for example, or by making the fastest tour. An invitation represents single -use access to access a multiplayer race with specific conditions. This race opposes players and AI and according to the cumulative results of each of the players, it is possible to win awards. A reward classification system means that, of course, get more to improve the award. The interest is therefore to work together. To facilitate this and the multiplayer in general, F1 25 reviews its user interface to highlight at the end of a race the players who have had a so-called “positive” behavior (by the behavior in race but also through performance), which allows us to easily send them a friend’s request in sight perhaps new challenges to be met in F1 World.
This new presentation of F1 25 was an opportunity for developers to mention various other improvements. An update concerns for example the rear return functionality which aims to be more effective and to facilitate the return to a point which will not create the accident that we try to avoid. In a different register, the game welcomes new kinematics and changes the size of the crowd during the awards ceremony according to the circuit on which we have just contributed. On the audio side finally F1 25 adds lines of voice for the radio during the races, doubles the number of audible dubbing on the part of the real pilots and all this fits both in races and in testing and qualifying sessions. The immersion promises to be maximum in F1 25, a game that we look forward to being able to have in hand and which will be released on Xbox Series X | S on May 30.
