The Regional Metropolitan Transport Authority (ARTM) unveiled the increases at its pricing grid from July 1. Among these, the monthly pass to move to Montreal from the South Crown will reach the $ 200 threshold.
For the whole of Greater Montreal, the ArtM has a 3% increase in the price of its various titles.
In the area designated as “southern crown”, that is to say the territory of Roussillon (notably Candiac, Châteauguay, Delson, La Prairie, Saint-Constant, Sainte-Catherine), only titles 1 or 2 passages are not increased.
However, the monthly pass “All ABC modes” to go to Montreal and return to it will increase from $ 196 to $ 200.50. Titles 24 hours ($ 17.25 at $ 17.75), 3 days ($ 40.50 to $ 41.25) and 10 passages ($ 59 to $ 60.25) will all go up.
The most important increase is however reserved for the special monthly title allowing to travel between Roussillon and Montreal by the Metropolitan Express Network (REM). He will go from $ 163 to $ 184. This title should also disappear in 2026 in favor of the monthly title “All ABC modes”.
-Inside the South Crown, 24 hours ($ 11, $ 11.25), $ 21.25 to $ 21.75), 10 passages ($ 33.25 to $ 34.25 ($ 11.25 to $ 111 to $ 114.25) will increase all.
“Necessary” choice
At artm, we see a “responsible and necessary” choice in the “current economic context”. In 2024, prices had also rose 3%.
“This measure limits financial impacts on customers, while ensuring that we can continue to offer a reliable and efficient service,” says Benoît Gendron, Director General of ArtM.
Recall that transport organizations have been facing major financial challenges from the pandemic, while traffic since 2020 has decreased drastically.
