Kick up a storm with Ohm Force Bohm and its three Eurorack modules: a kick voice, secondary groove kick module, and ducker.
Ohm Force Bohm
Ohm Force’s Ohmboyz is one of my all-time favorite plugins. Last year, the developer put its classic Ohmicide distortion into a Eurorack module, and now it’s continuing its foray into hardware with another module – and this time it’s an original.
Called Bohmit’s actually a trio of modules that form a complete system. What kind of system? Ohm Force Bohm represents a stereo Eurorack dual-voice kick solution comprised of three modules: Bohm, Bohm:Groove and Bohm:Performer.
Ohm Force Bohm: Kick It
Bohm the main module is a stereo 18HP affair with a Micro SD card reader. And loaded on the accompanying card are nine OIFF (Ohm Force Interchange File Format) files, each with a unique kick machine circuit on it. These models are, as you might expect, digitaland run the gamut from FM to wavetable. Along with holding models, the SD Card also allows you to import your own wavetables and samples and update the firmware.

Here are the nine engines:
- FM-2X: a two-operator FM kick model, with each operator a wavetable oscillator
- HZ-1: a wavetable kick drum with a transient synthesizer
- Olp-4: a four-operator FM kick model
- PM-K1: a kick drum based on physical modeling
- PX-3: a complex wavetable kick drum model with sampler intended for hard techno
- SP-6: a wavetable with digital waveforms and a sampler
- VX-T: a wavetable kick drum with a different transient synthesizer
- WT-4: a wavetable kick drum model featuring analogue waveforms and sampler
- XT-88: a wavetable kick drum model with a sampler that allows you to load your own wavetables and samples

Ohm Force Bohm features a number of controlsincluding a Function encoder to create variations of the kicks and a Randomize menu to tweak out the variations even further. Other functionality includes a trigger button, Length, Sustain for adjusting perceived volume, Pitch, Pitch Curve for 808-style booms, Attack, TRS Decay and TRS Tone for fine-tuning the transient, Color and FX. There’s also a Velocity CV control.
-Ohm Force Bohm:Groove and Bohm: Performer
The full Ohm Force Bohm set also includes two optional modules. The first is the 10HP Bohm:Groovewhich adds a second kick voice to – as the name suggests – create sequences around the main Bohm kick triggered by clock divisions. Parameters include Clock with four divisions per beat, Taps for setting the volume of each tap, Vol for volume, Length, FX and Color.

The final piece of the Ohm Force Bohm puzzle is Bohm: Performer. Designed for live performancethis 8HP module mixes the two kick voices together and adds stereo processing for external audio, sidechain ducking and additional effectsincluding a DJ-style highpass and lowpass filtering, beat roll and slip roll.
Ohm Force Bohm: Price and Availability
Ohm Force states that all of the modules feature 48kHz audio sample rate, 24-bit hardware audio converters, 32-bit floating point internal processing, true stereo audio, and high-fidelity Texas Instruments Burr-Brown audio converters.
Given the focus on dual kick drums, this is likely aimed at the techno crowd, but even just the Bohm unit alone looks like a versatile kick drum solution for different kinds of rigs.
Ohm Force plans to make the Bohm set available in June 2025with the main Bohm module costing €369, Bohm:Groove €139 and Bohm:Performer €99. All prices quoted include VAT in Europe. Find out more at the link below (note that the Bohm product page won’t go live until may 8, the start of Superbooth).
