You will never guess which search engine threatens Google at the moment

After more than a decade of unrelated domination, Google Search, Google’s search engine activity is seeing its share retreat. A competitor, in particular benefits. And it is however an outsider so far rather unloved by users.

Who would have believed it? After decade of “peace”, the search engine war seems to resume. With already the very strong progression of a fairly unexpected competitor from Google. And if you thought it’s DuckDuckGo and other Yahoo, we stop you immediately. Because it is in reality one of the most deceased players in the sector that is currently resuming colors.

With a start -up at 12% of global research, Bing now represents no less than 1/8 of Internet users. Admittedly, Microsoft’s progression, in the matter, is quite slow. Our colleagues from Windows Latest note that Bing increased by 6% to the current figure in 5 years. A little laborious, say certain bad languages, for a company that has more than 90% of the market for operating systems on PC.

Bing is experiencing dazzling progression against Google

However, it is undoubtedly this aspect, in concert with other more objective advantages which are playing. And could even transform the essay to the point of actually shaking the domination of Google. First, there is Microsoft’s clubbing that displays a message as soon as you try to download Chrome from Windows via the default Edge browser. A message that continues not to be very followed by the overwhelming majority of users.

But which seems to have an increasing impact with a small proportion of users. But the most interesting is undoubtedly elsewhere. By more closely analyzing the history of the increase noted by our colleagues, we note that one of the most significant starts, from 8% to 11%, took place in 2024 – while Google deployed a presentation of the “AI Overview” results in certain markets.

More broadly, in terms of AI, and improvements in the presentation of search results, which Bing offers after a request could be perceived as better than Google by part of the users. It remains to be seen whether these changes in market share will continue, or if this is purely cyclical and temporary. In any case, it proves, if it was still necessary, that Google’s domination is probably an unsurpassable fatality.
