The US Treasury Department has announced the signing of an “economic partnership” agreement between the United States and Ukraine, and said the agreement will allow the United States to access Ukraine’s natural resources in exchange for military and financial support they have brought to it so far.
The US Treasury Department made a declaration Thursday concerning the signing of the “US-Ukraine investment fund for reconstruction”.
“This economic partnership places the two countries in a position to work and invest together to ensure that our assets, capacities and common means accelerate the economic recovery of Ukraine,” said the press release, referring to the important financial and material support provided by the American people to the defense of Ukraine since the large -scale invasion of Russia.
Under the leadership of American President Donald Trump, the Treasury Department and the American Development Financing Company (DFC) will work with Ukraine to complete the management of the program and advance this important partnership, the press release said.
In his assessment of the question, the American secretary of the Treasury, Scott Bessent, underlined Trump’s efforts to achieve lasting peace between Russia and Ukraine.
“Thanks to President Trump’s tireless efforts to guarantee lasting peace, I am happy to announce the signing of the historic economic partnership agreement today.”
“The United States and the Ukrainian government are impatient to quickly make this historic economic partnership, both for the Ukrainian people and for the American people,” said the press release.
“This agreement clearly shows Russia that the Trump administration is engaged in a peace process centered on a free, sovereign and prosperous Ukraine in the long term,” said Bessent.
He recalled that Trump had designed this partnership between the United States and Ukrainian citizens to demonstrate the commitment of the two parties in favor of sustainable peace and prosperity in Ukraine, and that no state or any person who has funded or provided war in Russia would be authorized to benefit from the reconstruction of Ukraine.

In his Wednesday declaration on the subject, the American secretary to the Treasury, Bessent, said that he expected the agreement between the two countries to be signed during the day.
