The third stage will remain the only one in the Romandie Tour where the Arkéa-B & B Hotels team has placed no runner in a top 10, in six days of racing. Four of the seven committed runners, Raul Garcia Pierna, Thibault Guernalec, Cristian Rodriguez and Clément Venturini, have thus managed to finish at least once among the first ten. “In WorldTour it always feels goodappreciates Maxime Bouet, from Directive. We were actors every day. There was a very big level. We had sketches, sprinters, chronomans and climbers. We had very young people like Léandre (Lozouet) and Victor (Guernalec) who were there to learn. I find that we did well. We worked well together ”.
Raul Garcia Pierna and Thibault Guernalec had views of the final chrono in Geneva. So after having helped Cristian Rodriguez, they set up the end of the ascent towards Thyon 2000 to try to keep it a little. And the two runners did not disappoint this Sunday by both finishing among the first ten. “I came here to make good times. The prologue (7th, Editor’s note), it was more a surprise anyway, because it is a very punchy effort. But when we have good legs, we can make beautiful results. Today (Sunday), it was the kind of time that I like, with a nice bunch, a little technical. I hoped a beautiful top 10”, called Victor War. For one second, Raul Garcia Legs – Our photo – did better than his Breton teammate (see classification). “It was fine, but I was not in my best day either. I was missing a little strength, I couldn’t find the right rhythm. But it was not bad either. It was a good course for me, not simple and with a bump as I like”indicates the Spanish at Directive.
The Tour of Romandie of Arkéa-B & B Hotels could have been even more satisfactory. But ranked 10th as general at the start of the time, Cristian Rodriguez finally fell from a place. “He wasted time in turns. The time was a little too technical for Cristian. It’s a shame, he loses for nothing at all his top 10 (seven seconds, note) ”. But Maxime Bouet wants to remember what he saw for six days. “I found that the team had really been united. Everyone had a very specific role and respected it. We spent a really very good week in Romandie. And what I hope is that it continues like that”.
