Because, yes, from July 22, the date of his 12th birthday, Prince George will officially become “Royal Senior”. And, if he will be accompanied by a royal regent until his majority, his training will indeed begin from 12 years old.
This new status is not, however, an honorary title, since George will have to bend to several strict rules now. No more outings in children’s outfit: the heir will now be required to appear properly dressed, especially with a tie. A special protocol of greetings will also be implemented, which the prince will have to know at his fingertips.
Another peculiarity, perhaps even more surprising: George will no longer be able to travel by plane with his father. The objective of this flash rule: minimize the risks in the event of an accident, and thus avoid losing two direct heirs at the same time.

While waiting for his twelfth birthday, and the start of his official training, Kate and William have not lost time, and wanted to introduce their son to the royal protocol. George therefore attended, on May 5, at the annual victory day ceremony in Europe, for a solemn tribute to the veterans of the Second World War.
“He was calm and very friendly. In addition, he was very interested in the stories we could tell him about the war,” said Alfred Littlefield, a 101 -year -old veteran. “He believes that it is important that his generation does not forget them. William was very proud of his son.”
